Adverbs

Many french adverbs are formed by adding -ment  to the feminine form of the adjective 

gently- doucement 

finally- finalement 

fortunately- heureusement

probably- probablement

Exception which are not formed from feminine of the adjective: 

• vrai --> vraiment 
• evident --> evidemment 

Many common adverbs are completely irregular:

• bien (well) 
• mal (badly) 
• vite (fast)
