Genes:
- dna contains gene
- a gene is a sequence of dna nucleotides that codes for a polypeptide
- this sequence forms the primary sequence of the polypeptide chain
- the nucleotide bases in a gene determine the order of the amino acids in a protein
- each amino acid is coded for by a sequence of 3 bases (triplet) in a gene
- the genetic code: is the different sequence of bases code for different amino acids
- so the sequence of bases is a template used to make proteins.
