Strikes

  • Protests by workers, peasants and members of the armed forces
  • Lack of co-ordination led to failure of revolution ultimately
  • However, did cause big problems for the government
  • The wave of stikes by workers developed into a general strike
  • Strikers set up soviets to direct the strikes 
  • Most successful general strike in Russian history
  • Whole country was paralised
  • Railway workers went on strike in October, seriously threatening the government (railways crucial)
