- EM waves in a vacuum travel at the speed of light, 3.00x10^8

- You can measure the speed of sound by seperating two microphones a distance of d, with seperate inputs. A signal generator should be placed nearer one of the microphones and the then a sound played and the time delay between the microphones picking them up recorded. You can then use c = d/t to work out the speed of sound.
