What is conservation?

'the act of conserving; prevention of injury, decay, waste or loss; preservation'

In-situ conservation - preservation of animals in their natural environment (national parks, reserves)

Ex-situ conservation - preservation of animals outside their natural habitat (zoos and animal collections)
