Year 10 revision Meaning, Purpose and Truth

Sanctity means 'the quality of being sacred or Holy'   Christians believe there is something special or holy about human life...  'So God created people in his own image; God patterned them after himself; male and female he created them. Humans are the only part of God's creation described as being in the image of God.  Christians believe that God created every human to be unique.    'You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mothers womb.......passed'    Sanctity of life affects the decisions Christians make about any point in a human life where there is a possibility of creating or destroying our existence.   The Sanctity of Life; life is God-given, human life is precious, God has a plan for every human life, all life deserves respect and God has a plan for every human life.   'You shall not murder'    

'You shall not kill by abortion the fruit of the womb and you shall not murder the infant already born(infanticide)    The Roman Catholic Church objects to all unnatural forms of birth control and abortion. It teaches that abortion denies the most basic of all human rights, the right to exist....  'from the first movement of his(her) existence, a human being must be recognised as having the rights of a person, among which is the inviolable right of every innonent being to life'    Some arguements for abortion, the woman has the right to decide what happens to her body, the child couldnt survive without the mother so does not have rights, if the mother's health is in danger its more important than the childs.   Arguements against abortion,  its murder, limits the numbers of babies, can leave a woman sterile, its human, better for it to have a disability, only God creates life, it can have a bad effect, takes up hospital beds, encourages people to be irresponsible about sex.

'Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air... ground' It teaches that life is sacred  'Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit'  Six commandment, 'You shall not murder'   The Church teaches that Christians can never hasten death.. any action which is intended to cause death to relieve suffering(giving a dying person a drug overdose)  Christians also believe that we have a responsibility to care for the dying. They believe that with modern medicine its possible to allow terminally ill patients to live fully until they die. Christians believe that God has a plan for our life, even when we are suffering. Even if we think our life has finished, Christians believe God can use our life.
