Data consists of raw facts and figures

Information - data that has been processed by computer

Processing - performing calculations or arranging the data into a meaningful order

GIGO - garbage in garbage out: if data is inaccurate then no useful information would be produced

INPUT = raw data entered into computer for processing

PROCESSING = performing calculations onto raw data

OUTPUT = results of processing data

STORAGE = holds data temporarily while processing takes place needed to store programs for example operating system
