Who is Mark?

Mark is known by the names "Mark the Evangelist" and "St.Mark the Apostle" 

It has been said that his original name was "John Mark" 

It has been said that Mark was born in Cyrene, Libya.

He was not one of the twelve disciples however he witnessed the preaching at Palestine.
