Was Edwardian Britain the golden age? ... NO!

  • wasnt for the poor
  • houses were cramped
  • sometimes people shared one room between 9 people
  • couldnt spend money on buses, railways, newspapers, pocket money, toys, sweets, alcohol and new clothes
  • women did easy jobs at home
  • employers wouldnt employ married women 
  • the person who earned the money in the house had to go to work every day, even if they were ill
