How was Henry Bolingbroke an overmighty noble?

  • Know's he isnt safe against the king but choses to stay
  • Mowbray tells Bolingbroke about the plot agianst him and still feels he can comfront the king (exciled for 10 years)
  • Henry is the most influencal noble after his father dies
  • Richard took Hneyr's land so Henry overthrew him
  • When Henry returned to the country there was an uprising of the lords and barons

  • In 1394 Richard took an army of 5,000 men to Ireland to deal with a revolt
  • His campagin was successful but had to return home in 1395 to deal with religious disputes

  • A noble family which were particularly powerful in the North of England
  • Very close to Henry Bolignbroke and played a key role during the Scottish rebellion and the Glyndwr rebellion
