Quantitative Utilitarianism: Bentham Weigh up whether the moral course of action is the maximisation of higher pleasures for present/future generation

POU=weigh up the amount of pleasure/pain of all those involved

World has instrumental value/useful to humans

Qualitative Utilitarianism: Mill Enjoyment/study of nature at the top of his list of higher pleasures. Thus environmental preservation is imperative. Animals should be treated with dignity. Denial of this would produce harmful effects on human beings
