Urban Deprivation

All urban areas have modern buildings and luxury housing, and all urban areas also have the areas filled with vandalised houses and boarded up buildings.

These differences are clear to see, and it isn't hard to tell which are the deprived areas.

Deprivation can cause seriously problems. These include;

  • crime, including murder, rates increasing
  • lowered life expectancy
  • mortality rates increasing
  • likelihood of health problems increasing

Deprivation comes in many forms. They can be economic, environmental, and social.
