Advantages:

Disadvantages:

Most commonly used connector for internal storage devices

Advantages:

- Extremely fast data transfer speeds

- Compatible with most devices

Disadvantages:

- Short range

Commonly used with older display devices

Advantages:

- Compatible with older technology

- Built in locking mechanism

Disadvantages:

- Can't achieve very high resolutions

- Doesn't transmit audio with video

Commonly used with modern display devices

- Capable of 4K resolution output

- Audio can be transmitted with video

Disadvantages:

- No locking mechanism

Used to transmit data between computers, often in a Local Area Network or Home Network

- Good range (100 metres)

Disadvantages:

- Limits mobility when compared wot WiFi

- Can't be used over very long ranges

- Poor security compared to other methods

- Relatively large range

- Low cost installation

- Complex to setup

- Security can be a big issue

Advantages:

- Internet access is highly available

- Easy to connect to the Internet

Disadvantages:

- Very expensive Internet access

- Data transfer speeds are relatively slow
