Peter - the leading Apostle. Peter was the 'rock' on which Jesus based the church and was the first Pope.
'And I tell you that you are Peter (Simon), and on this rock I will build my church'
-Peter was the first human to call Jesus the 'Christ'- "Simon Peter answered 'You are the Christ, the son of the living God'.
-Hell (sin and evil) will not be able to defeat the Church.
The Pope
The Pope lives in the Vatican- the smallest independent country. In the Vatican the tomb of St.Peter is underneath the altar.
R.C's believe the church is infallible meaning it cannot go wrong because it is guided by the Holy Spirit.
Papal Infallibility- The head of the Church the Pope is infallible in matter of faith when dealing with current important matters.
