The attitudes towards war in Judaism

JUDAISM TEACHES THAT PEOPLE SHOULD FIGHT IN JUST WARS BECAUSE

• The Talmud says "that wars must be commanded by God"
• The Tenakh is full of accounts of war involving God therefore, God surely isn't against war
• The Tenakh accounts show how Israel fought to keep her independance by defending herself, therefore modern day Israel should be able to do the same.

HOWEVER SOME JEWS ARE PACISFISTS

• They feel the methods of modern day weapons are unjust, so therefore they oppose wars
