  • Situated within Nigeria - North coast of the Gulf Of Guinae. Close to the Border of Benin
  • Distance between Lagos and Abuja (capital) is 520km.

  • Until the 15th Century it was a small fishing village  , owned by portugeese
  • Population : 20 million
  • GDP: $33,679 million
  • 13,000 tonnes of waste daily 
  • 80% of Nigerias trade and industry.
  • Major seaport, airport and ficancial centre in West Africa.

  • Expanded Northward onto mainland following railway. 
  • Expansion happened in 1970 due to an oil boom

when people work to recieve a wage, pay tax and have rights. 

Advantages : sick pay, holiday pay, gaurenteed salary. 

Disadvantages; pay tax, contracted hours, need good qualifactations. 

INFORMAL: 

Jobs that are not taxed by the government. 

Advantages: freedom, dont have to pay tax, Dont need qualifactaions. 

Disadvatages: No sick or holiday pay, No pension , No guarenteed pay.

  • Lesuire facilities in the dump, can use recycled goods, Residents dont have to travel to get there. 
  • Problems: 
  • Fires spread easily, Natural gases can cause fires once built up, poor sanitation, cholorea,typhoid, health issues, electric waste causes toxic fumes, smell and sound poloution.
