- Situated within Nigeria - North coast of the Gulf Of Guinae. Close to the Border of Benin.
- Distance between Lagos and Abuja (capital) is 520km.
- It is an NEE.

- Until the 15th Century it was a small fishing village , owned by portugeese.

- Originally - Lagos Island, surrounded by Lagoon.
- Expanded Northward onto mainland following railway.
- Expansion happened in 1970 due to an oil boom.

- Formal:
when people work to recieve a wage, pay tax and have rights.
Advantages : sick pay, holiday pay, gaurenteed salary.
Disadvantages; pay tax, contracted hours, need good qualifactations.
INFORMAL:
Jobs that are not taxed by the government.
Advantages: freedom, dont have to pay tax, Dont need qualifactaions.
Disadvatages: No sick or holiday pay, No pension , No guarenteed pay.

- Benefits:
- Lesuire facilities in the dump, can use recycled goods, Residents dont have to travel to get there.
- Problems:
- Fires spread easily, Natural gases can cause fires once built up, poor sanitation, cholorea,typhoid, health issues, electric waste causes toxic fumes, smell and sound poloution.

- 4% drink river water - salty and pollouted
- bottled water from street vendors - very expensive
