Germany's economic recovery 

  • New currency: calls of passive resistance in Ruhr - Germany can begin to make new currency: restores faith in financial system.
  • Loans: Dawes & Young plan - USA loaned Germany 800 million gold marks: massive industry boost & allowed Germany to pay reparations again.  However Wall-Street crash (1929) meant USA couldn't afford to pay loans
  • Reparations: Stresseman argued acceptance of TOV to improve foreign relations.  Due to Dawes Plan: reparations decreased 
  • Diplomacy: to improve Germanys defences. 1925 Locarno agreements provided reassurance for the French.  
    • Locarno agreement - (1925) Peace pact 
    • The League of Nations - (1926) gave Germany more equality 
    • Kellog-Briand pact - (1928) signed to outlaw war
