Abolish Treaty of Versailles:

• The Big Three were known as the "November Criminals"
• ToV was a constant reminder of German defeat
• Germany stopped paying the reparations

Expand Territory:

• Germany wanted to unite with Austria 
• Hitler wanted countries with Germans in to unite with Germany- eg Czechoslovakia
• Hitler wanted an eastern European empire to provide living space (LEBENSRAUM) for Germans.

Defeat Communism:

• Hitler was an anti-comunist
• He believed Bolsheviks helped in the German defeaft of WW1
• He thought that the Bolsheviks wanted to take over Germany
