Telegrams

George Kennan, US emassador in Moscow, sent a telegram which read more like a letter hence the name 'Long Telegram.' He reported Stalin wanted to destroy Capitalism and feared a world outside Communism. Also felt the USSR would back down if met with stony resistance. 

A Soviet diplomat in Washington stated the USA wnated to dominate the world with their military. The US no longer wanted to co-operate with USSR after Roosevelt's death.
