(example taken from Mymaths.co.uk) (/=square root)(sq=squared)

-There is a right-angled triangle with a base of 5m and height of 8m. We need to know the perimeter. Using pythagoras:

8 + 5+/8sq+/5sq  =   13/89

-Work out /4 x /9  =    6  =  /36

/a x /b = /axb = /ab

-Work out /100 divided by /25 = 2 = /4

-2/3 x 5/2 = 2 x 5 x /3 x /2 =10 x /3x2 = 10/6
