Stress

P1

Definition- A stimulus (stressor) in the environment

Life changes are events that cause major transitions in our life. One way of measuring the relationship between these and our health is the social readjustment rating scale (SRRS), developed by Holmes and Rahe. An example of a couple of life events are death of a spouse [100], marriage [50], and minor violation of the law [11].

  • A score of 150+ increases the chances of stress-related health issues by 30%
  • A score of 300+ increases the odds by 50%

Evaluation
