Star:

• If one computer goes down the others won't be affected.
• Adding or removing devices from a network is easy and can be done without affecting networks
• If the switch goes down so does the computers
• More expensive than bus or ring

Mesh:

• If one line goes down you can connect through a alternate route
• Data can be transmitted from different devices at the same time
• The overall cost is expensive due to the cable or wireless community
• Can handle high volumesof data traffic
