sound convertion: analogue to digital ( instruments produce analogue sounds which need to be converted into a digital sound for the computer tbe able to process it), digital to analogue (digital sounds produced by the computer need to be converted into analogue sounds)

Samplars: an electronic or digital musical instrument similar to a synthesizer, but instead of generating new sounds with filters, it uses sound recordings or"samples" of real instruments e.g piano, trumpet, violin, exerptsfrom recorded songs e.g a 5 second bass guitar riff from a funk song, or other sounds e.g sirens, ocean waves.
