Solving direct proportion

Rules for solving direct proportion:

Part one:

• Create a proportion expression, eg- y cx x
• Convert to an equation ie. y= kx
• Use the values given for x and y to work out k
• Rewrite y=kx using the value of k

Part 2:

• Now use whatever value they give you to work out the "the other variable"
