Solubility Curve

  • When a solid dissolves in water it becomes a solution.
  • A solid that dissolves is called a solute or a soluble solid.
  • The liquid that the solid dissolves in is called a solvent.
  • As the temperature of a solvent increases the amount of solid that is disolved increases.
  • Solubility measures the amount of solute that dissolves in a given amout of solvent at a given temperature.
