research method :Lab , experimental Case study which took place in a purpose built prison like environment

hypothesis :investigate the behaviour of groups that were unequal in terms of power, status, and resources.

The Social approach would explain the behaviour of the guards and prisoners to be because of their social situations.  The prisoners behaviour would be because of the guards and the guards would behave in accordance to how the prisoners acted.
