Social Issues 

These are issues that arise when a proudct has an unforeseen effect on a group of people. it can be both good and bad. 

Examples

An example of this is when mobile phones were first introduced, no one realised how powerful texting would become. This has had both a good and bad impact on society. 

These are issues that arise whena product doesnt take into account the fact that a certain colour shape or size can have different meaning for different people. 

Example 

The new mini cooper has union jack brake lights on its cars. Although this is a symbol of promoting the company's British history, some people in Northern Ireland will find it offensive due to the troubled past of the country. 

A product could help or influence someone to do something illegal. 

Example 

Giving a child a toy gun could be seen as encouraging violence to children

Creating an envrionmentally friendly product could be seen as naturally good and so influences people to do the right thing.
