Diagnostic tools for diagnosis- Dyspraxia
Diagnosis is made by a multidisciplinary team consisting of a paediatrician, an ocupational therapist, a paediatric neurologist, a physiotherapist and a speech and language therapist.
The assessment used is 'Motor ABC'- this tests the child's gross and fine motor skills.
The child will be asked to test gross motor skills, such as; moving around, jumping anbd balancing.
The child will be asked to test fine motor skills, such as; drawing and placing small pegs in holes.
There will also be an assessmnet of their mental ability and a full medical history.
