- artifical methods of contraception aren't allowed
- sex should always allow the possibility of new life
- Natural methods of contraception are allowed e.g family planning
Muslim beliefs
- sex should only happen within marriage
- sex is considered an act of worship
- short term contraception is accepted, long term like vasectomy is forbidden
- Promises of faithfullness are usually made in the wedding ceremony 'have nothing to do with adultry'
