Many people believed in witch craft. They identified witches by whether they sank or floated. If they sank it meant they were innocent and if they floated it meant that they were guilty. They also identified witches by looking see if they had a mark on their body.

Many old women were accused of witchcraft and if animals or people became ill witches were accused and many people went on trial for be witching.

People believed that a king or queen could cure people with diseases.

People believed that perfumes&spices could cure diseases.

Newspapers were full of adverts for new remedies.

Smallpox innoculations were introduced.

The River Thames carried clean water to everyone in the ciy of London.

William Harvey proved that blood circulated all around the body and blood transfusions started.
