Blood Pressure

  • Blood pressure had 2 measurements: systolic pressure & diastolic pressure
  • Systolic pressure is the maxium pressure the heart produces and Diastolic pressure is the blood pressure between heart beats
  • Blood pressure can be increased by stress, alcohol, smoking and obesity
  • Blood pressure can be decreased by exercise and a balanced diet
  • High blood pressure can cause blood vessels to burst, this can cause a stroke. It can also damage your kidneys
  • Low pressure pressure can lead to fainting as the reduced blood supply to the brain and poor circulation to other areas such as the fingers and toes.

Fitness & Health

  • Your general level of fitness can be measured by your Cardivascular efficiency
  • The five measures of fitness are strength, flexibility, stamina, agility and speed
