Blood pressure;

  • Blood pressure is the pressure of blood against the walls of the arteries, it results from two forces: 1. pressure from the as it pumps blood into the arteries and through your body 2. pressure from arteries as they resist blood flow
  • Average blood pressure 80/120mmhg
  • blood pressure measured using sphygmamanometer or electric sensor
  • Two number associated with blood pressure: 1. the higher number (systolic) represents the pressure as the heart beats 2. the lower number (diastolic) represents the pressure when the heart relaxes
