What do you have to do?

• observe what happens under a light microscope
• draw and label what you see under a light microscope               ......of plant and animal cells
• use a magnififcation scale

• microscope
• knife 
• onion
• iodine soultion
• coverslip
• microscope slides
• pippette
• cutting board
• toothpicks

• wash and peel the onion
• slice the onion as thin as possible 
• when cutting, also remove the slippery skin to be used later using the toothpick
• place the small onion onto the slide and the onion skin onto another slide
• put drops of iodine soution onto the onion and onion skin
• place cover slips onto both of them
