-Group 1  Outwitting opponents (games)

-Group 2  Accurate replication of actions and phases (gymnastics)

-Group 3  Exploring and communicating ideas (dance)

-Group 4  Performing at maximum levels (swimming/athletics)

-Group 5  Indentifying and solving problems (lifesaving/orienteering)

-Group 6  Exercising safetly to improve fitness (weight training)

What is the National Healthy Schools Programme?

- A long term initiative to help improve the health and achievement of children and young people

- Intention that pupils will be able to make informed health and life choices to reach full potential

- Need for a whole school approach to be successful

What are the 4 core themes?

- Personal, social, health education: incooperates relationship and drug education, being healthy and staying safe, knowledge and skills to make informed decisions

- Healthy eating: gives confidence and knowldge to make healthy food choices, healthy and nutritious food available throughout the day

- Physical activity: range of opportunities to be physically active, understand how is exercise is healthy

- Emotional health and well being: supports vunerable individuals and groups, bullying policy, behaviour and reward policy, confidential pastoral support

What are the 5 parts of extra curricular provision

-Activity range competitive and recreational

-Attitudes of staff teachers interests and abilites influence what they offer, other staff members prepared to help PE

-Facilities restricted facilities limit activities being offered

-Outside visits arrange visits to other sporting providers

-Club links providers of activites outiside of school run extra curricular
