The Sanctity of Life

sanctity = sacredness = holy

  • human life is holy; should be treated differently towards all types of life (ie. plants/animals)
  • humans were created as the 'image of God'; given a soul
  • humans were given the responsibility to look after all of His creation - Earth
  • God became human in the form of Jesus to save us
  • having different the belief that humans are sacred affects our attitude to:
    • Euthanasia
    • Abortion
    • Genetic engineering
    • Suicide
