The main purpose of using this tool is to impose a grid on the site to locate every artefact and feature in 3D space and to make topographic maps of the site.

Planning Frame
A square/rectngular chassis that is used to assist with planning features.
By laying the frame over an area that is to be planned/drawn, the planner can carefully observe the material to be drawn and transfer this to the drawing board.
