Programmes in many LEDC's are trying to increase access to clean water and proper sanitation - Aid programmes from MEDC's such as water aid play a part in assisting these projects.
The spread of knowledge about what constitutes a better diet and a healthy lifestyle - helped by global communications, media and better education.
A general improvement in access to food supplies (although there is questioning as the whether there will be enough to sustain future populations)
