Agnosticism - not being sure wheter God exists

Atheism - believing that od does not exist

Conversion - when your life is changed by giving yourself to God

Free will - the idea that humans are free to make their own decisions

Miracle - something which seems to break the laws of science and only God done it

Prayer - an attempt to contact God usually through words

Moral evil - actions done by humans which causes suffering

Natural evil - things which cause suffering but human have nothing to do with it

Numinous - the feeling of the presence of something greater than you

Omni-benovelent - the belief that God is all good

Omnipotent - the belief that God is all powerful

Omniscient- the blief that God knows everything

Matters of life and death

Abortion - the removal of a foetus from a womb before it can survive

Assisted suicide - providing a seriously ill person with the means to commit suicide

Euthanasia - the painless killing of someone dying from a painful disease

Immorality of the soul - the idea that the soul lives on after the death

Near death experience - when someone about to die has an outer body experiece

Sancitity of life - the belief that life is holy and belongs to God

Non-voluntry euthanasia - ending someones life painlessly when they are unable to ask

Paranormal - unexplained thins which are thought to have spiritual causes

Quality of life - the idea the life must have some benefits for it to be worth living

Reincarnation - the belief that. after death, soul is reborn in a new body

Resurrection - the belief that the body stays in the grave and at the end it is raised

Voluntary euthanasia - ending life painlessly when someone in great pain asks for it

Adultery - a sexual act between a married person and someone other than their marriage partner

Civil partnership - a legal ceremony giving a homosexual couple the same legal rights

Cohabitation - living togther without being married

Contraception - intentionally preventing pregnancy from ocurring

Faithfulness - staying with your marriage partnr and only having sex with them

Homosexuality - sexual attraction to the same sex

Nuclear family - mother, father, and children living as a unit

Pre-martial sex - sex before marriage

Procreation - making a new life

Promiscuity - having sex with a number of partners without commitment

Re-constituted family - when two sets of childen (step) divorce parents marry each other

Re-marriage - marrying again after being divorced from a previous marriage

Religon and community cohesion

Community cohesion - a common vision and shared sense of belonging from all groups in society

Discrimintion - treating people less favourbly because of their ethnicity/gender/colour/sex/class

Ethnic minority - a member of an ethnic group (race) which is smaller than the majority group

Interfaith marriage - in marriage which the husband and whife are from different religons

Multi-ethnic society - many different races and culturesliving togther in one society

Prejudice - believing some people are iferior or superior without even knowing them

Racial harmony - different races or colours living togther happily

Racism - th belief that some races are superior to others

Religous freedom - the rght to pracise your religon and chang your religion

Sexism - discriminating against poeple becasue of their gender

Muti-faith society - many diffrent religions living together in one soceity

Religous pluralism - accepting all religions as having an qual right to coexist
