Production Of Nets

- also known as 'developments' can be produced from almost any sheet material like:

• paper
• card
• board
• metal
• plastic

- most nets now are developing using CAD & should show:

• cut lines
• tabs
• annotation

cartonboard is the most common material used for producing boxes for the packaging of comsumer products. costs & mistakes can be reduced by:

• using standard pre-drawn nets
• unsing internationally recognised diagrams & symbols to communicate designs

after cartonboard has been through the printing & print finishing rocess it needs to be turned into containers

this can be automated:

1) accurate die is made

2) die is mounted into the die cutting machine

3) the cartonboard nets are trimmed on a power guillotine

4) test sheet is produced

5) printed cartonboard is fed into the die-cutting machine & stamped out

6) waste is directed away using ejector pins or rubbers
