  • People still believed that there were many factors that could prevent disease, including superstitions and praying
  • People continued to practice Regimen Sanititis
  • Cleanliness was still important

Change

  • Bathing became less fashionable - they were afraid of catching syphilis. they were more likey to change there clothes
  • People also started to believe that other thigs could help avoid disease like moderation
  • Ideas about the atmosphere causing disease were becoming more popular
  • More steps were taken to remove miasma, for example fines were given if the streets weren't kept clean
  • new instruments (like thermometers) were used to measure and record weather conditions (overa long peroid of time)
