Radical-changing verbs

  • The change takes place in the stem of the verb
    • O --> ue
    • E --> ie
    • E --> i
    • U --> ue
  • These changes do not take place in 1st or 2nd person plural.
  • NB: Oler is a radica-changing verb but an needs to be added at the beginning of the verb - e.g. huelo.

Yo changing verbs

  • This change only takes place in the 1st person singular
  • There are many changes, example:
    • C --> zc
    • The appearance of g

  • Ir and Ser are the only two totally irregular verbs
