Some of these can form precipitates when reacted with Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH).

They form different colours. 

When reacted with Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH)

  • Aluminium hydroxide - White
  • Calcium hydroxide - White
  • Magnesium hydroxide - White
  • Copper hydroxide - Blue
  • Iron hydroxide (Fe2+) - Green
  • Iron hydroxide (Fe3+) - Brown
