Potential Difference and Power

  • V = W/Q [Work Done / Charge]
  • Voltage, also known as potential difference, is a measure of the energy porvided to the charge carriers. It can be defined as the amount of work done per unit charge
  • Voltage is measured as a difference in potential between two points. Thus a voltmeter must be connected in parallel and used to measure the difference in potential across a device
  • 1 volt = 1 JC^-1
  • W =FS so 1 volt = 1NmC^-1 *(etc.)

Insert Formulae into each other. For example:

  • P =W/T  = IVT/T = IV
