Population Growth

Population Growth

?

World's population growing rapidly

Population is growing at an exponential rate - faster and faster

two things which affect population growth:

  • Birth rate: number of live babies born per thousand, per year.
  • Death rate: number of deaths per thousand of the population per year.

birth rate is higher than death rate = natural increase

death rate is higher than bith rate = natural decrease

Migration - movement of people from one area to another.
