Scrooge's nephew visits him, inviting him to their Christmas dinner.
When he leaves, two gentlement come to ask Scrooge to donate to the poor and destitute.
Bob Cratchit asks to have Christmas Day off when they depart.
When Scrooge arrives home, the doorknocker with Marley's face on comes alive.
Bells start to ring around the house and chains can be heard jingling.
Marley's ghost enters Scrooge's room. He tells him that 3 ghosts will haunt Scrooge.
He leaves through the window.

Stave 2
The Ghost of the Christmas Past arrives.
1. They visit the scene when Scrooge was a little boy at school.
2. They see Fran saying that their father says Ebeneezer can come home.
3. They go to Fezziwig's place where Scrooge was an apprentice.
4. They see Belle releasing Scrooge.
5. They see Belle's husband saying he saw an old friend of her's that day.
Scrooge cannot bear seeeing his past anymore and has a struggle with the Ghost, when he finds himself in bed.

Stave 3
The Ghost of the Christmas Present arrives. He is jolly and has a plentiful spirit.
They see different scenes of people, mostly poor, just enjoying themselves on Christmas Day.
At the Cratchits' house, they are having Christmas dinner, all very merry.
They visit some more scenes and then go to Fred's house, where there is a houseful of visitors joking in the lounge.
When the life of the Ghost is about to end, they go to a desolate place, and a boy and girl appear from underneath the spirit's robe.
When they go, the spirit disappears.

Stave 4
The Ghost of the Christmas Yet to Come appears as a hooded phantom. They listen to conversations.
The first is about a man that has died, and neither of the two knows what he has done with his money, and also that it was going to be a very cheap funeral.
The next is three people who have accidently met each other, taking the dead man's goods from his house, and showing how they have no sympathy for him.
Scrooge asks if there is any person who feels emotion caused by the death of this man, but the only one is of happiness to a family that owed a great debt and are now relieved of it.
Scrooge asks to see some tenderness connected with death, so they go to the Cratchit household where poor Tiny Tim is dead and the family are grieved.
The hooded phantom shows Scrooge a grave, and it is his. the spirit then disappears.

Stave 5
Scrooge awkes in him room, joyous to find he is alive.
He calls to a passing boy and finds out that it is Christmas Day.
Scrooge asks the boy to buy the biggest turkey and send it to Bob Cratchit's for a reward.
Scrooge meets the portly gentleman he met the day before and offers him a great sum of money for the poor and destitute.
He goes to his nephew's hohuse and makes merry.
Next Day, Scrooge gets in early to catch Bob Cratchit coming in late. He pretends to tell him off, but actually gives him a pay rise.
Scrooge becomes a second father to Tiny Tim who deosn't die.
