Plants

  • Multicellular
  • Have chloroplasts- can photosynthesise
  • Their cells have cell walls made of cellulose
  • Store carbohydrates as starch or sucrose
1 of 6

Animals

  • Multicellular
  • Dont have chloroplasts- cant photosynethesise
  • Dont have cell walls
  • Have nervous coordination - quick response
  • Can move around
  • Store carbohydrates as glycogen
2 of 6

Fungi

  • Some are Single-celled
  • Others have body called a mycelium which is made up of hyphae
  • Hyphae contains lots of nuclei
  • Can't photosynthesise
  • Cell walls made of chittin
  • Most feed by saprotrophic nutrition
  • Store carbohydrates as glycogen

Protocists

  • Single celled, microscopic
  • Some have chloroplasts
  • similar to plant cells/animal cells
4 of 6

Bacteria

  • Single celled and microscopic
  • Dont have a nucleus
  • Circular chromosone of DNA
  • Some can photosynthesise
  • Most feed off of other organisms
5 of 6

Viruses

  • Particles NOT cells
  • Reproduce inside living cells
  • Infect all living organisms
  • Variety of shapes and sizes
  • Protein coat around DNA/RNA
