What does the big bang theory suggest?

What are the two key bits of evidence?

What does our sun contain, and what does that do to the spectrum of light?

The further a star is away from us...

What does this tell us?

How can we learn about stars?

it suggests that the universe began several billion years ago in an explosion that caused it to expand, and to continue expanding

Red shift and the cosmic microwave background

It contains helium and it shows black lines in the spectrum of light from the sun

the more light is red shifted

This tells us that distant galaxies are moving away from us, and the further away a galaxy the faster it is moving away

By analysing the radiation they produce
