Philosophical Zombies argument (5)

  • if it is possible to think of a zombie lacking consciousness, it has the res extensa elements without res cognitans and so dualist theories of the body being made up of more than one property is correct

Issues with Philosophical Zombies (5)

  • doesn't make sense unless one assumes the dualist position; philosophical zombies are identical to humans apart from lacking a soul therefore souls exists <- doesn't tell us anything
  • just bc one can imagine something existing doesn't mean it has to exist
  • arguments in favour seem to justify oppression for those considered soulless
