In your own words, you are asked to state what the sources are telling you and make sure you use quotations from the source to support what you are stating. You do not analyse the quotes or the key words. You sometimes have to read between the lines.

In this question, you need to analyse the language used in the sources.You analyse key words, key phrases, language techniques and sentence structures. You need to think about the tone that is being used and look for language that is being used beyonds its meaning. You need to think about why the writer has done this. Analyse and look in depth at the words and phrases. Try to look for the less obvious interpretations.

This question is about both of the sources. The bullet points included in the question are there to tell you what you need to look for and write about. Write in PETAL paragraphs (Point, Evidence, Technique, Analyse and Link). You are not analysing the language used, you are analysing what the writer does, how they do this and why they do this.

For this question, you have to either write an article, a letter, a speech or a leaflet. This could to be to argue, inform, persuade, explain, agree or disagree. Think about the target audience, who it is aimed for and if it has to be formal or informal.
