## P4 forces and friction

Forces occur when two objects interact

Interaction pair- an object exerts a force onto another object, it always experiences a force in return.

E.g. if you push against a wall, the wall with push back against you in the opposite direction with the same force. Although the forces are equal they can stilll cause things to move because they act on difference opjects.

Reaction force- a book pushes down on the table with a force equal to its weight and the table exerts an equal and opposite force upwards on the book. Called reaction force because it is the tables 'response' to the force exerted by the book.

Fricition- when an object is moving towards another one, both objects experience a force in the direction that oppses the movement. It is a reaction force. The frictional force will match the size of the force trying to move an object. The object will then move
